ArtCode — Fashion Show

Motion Graphics ArtCode 2 films

The brief

Screen content for the ArtCode fashion show — two pieces that had to read from across a room, on a large display, with no sound to lean on.

The approach

Built entirely from flat colour fields and hard-edged geometry rather than photography, so the work stays legible at distance and never competes with the garments it introduces. Type is set large and cut by moving shapes instead of fading, which keeps every transition readable as a deliberate edit rather than a dissolve.

My role

Motion graphics — design and animation of both pieces.

Event screens are watched in glances, not sat through, so both pieces are built to be re-entered at any point rather than followed from the top. The palette runs on a small set of saturated flats held against black, so contrast does the work that lighting would do in live footage. Shapes move on hard cuts and eased slides timed to a fixed beat, which lets the two films play back to back or on loop without either reading as a continuation of the other.
